IACC’s 41st Annual General Meeting<br />
Gautam Mahajan<br />
Elected New IACC President<br />
Gautam Mahajan, President Interlink Services, was<br />
elected as National President of <strong>Indo</strong>-<strong>American</strong><br />
<strong>Chamber</strong> of <strong>Commerce</strong> (IACC) at the 41st Annual<br />
General Meeting held on 27 September, 2010 at the Taj<br />
Mahal Palace & Towers in Mumbai.<br />
The agenda for the Business Session was to approve and<br />
adopt the Executive Council Report and the Audited<br />
statement of Accounts for the year ending March 31,<br />
2010, to elect members of the Executive Council for the<br />
year 2010-11, to appoint auditors and to pass special<br />
resolutions.<br />
The Business Session was followed by a Public Session.<br />
Paul Folmsbee, US Consul General in Mumbai was the<br />
Guest of Honor and other keynote speakers Vikram<br />
Akula, Founder & Chairperson, SKS Microfinance and<br />
Niranjan Hiranandani, Founder & MD, Hiranandani<br />
Constructions addressed the audience with excellent<br />
speeches followed by a question and answers session.<br />
Finally, a new Executive Council was elected. Gautam<br />
Mahajan, President of Inter-Link Services was<br />
unanimously elected as the President for 2010-11. S.K<br />
Mitra, Chairman & Director of Agile Financial Advisors,<br />
Mumbai, took over as the First Executive Vice President<br />
and Shourya Mandal, Partner, Fox Mandal, Kolkata was<br />
elected as the Second Vice President.<br />
Mahajan thanked outgoing President Syed Badruddin<br />
with due appreciation for his hard work. He also thanked<br />
all the EC members for electing him as the President for<br />
2010-11. Mahajan made a presentation on “Rebuilding<br />
IACC”, underlining the objectives and focus areas of the<br />
chamber, IACC leadership, membership promotion,<br />
strengthening the secretariat, programmes, B2B<br />
initiatives, external relationships, branding, PR & website,<br />
finance and administration etc.<br />
Presentations on IACC's <strong>Indo</strong>-US Forums on Legal,<br />
Education, SME and Habitat were made by the Regional<br />
Directors and the Secretary General, giving the<br />
objectives, the people involved from India and the US<br />
and the action plan for the year for each of the forums. <br />
Outgoing President Syed Badruddin welcoming Shourya<br />
Mandal, Partner, Fox Mandal, Kolkata, who was elected as the<br />
Second Vice President.<br />
