Luncheon meeting with Mr James Herman,<br />
Minister Counselor for Consular Affairs,<br />
US Embassy<br />
The North India Council organized a luncheon meeting<br />
with James Herman, Counselor for Consular Affairs, US<br />
Embassy, on 1 September, 2010 in New Delhi.<br />
Dilip Tawadey, past regional President, IACC, welcomed<br />
Herman and Ms Sucheta Sharma, Second Secretary, Visa<br />
Section and gave a gave a brief introduction of the<br />
former.<br />
Herman gave a short introduction of the<br />
current rules governing VISAs to the US,<br />
the methodology and time taken in<br />
processing VISA applications and the<br />
challenges the US Consulates faces in<br />
the process.<br />
Herman then opened the session for<br />
discussion. There was an excellent<br />
interaction wherein a lot of aspects<br />
affecting the Indian business and<br />
individuals regarding US VISA issues<br />
were discussed.<br />
Herman also spoke about a few new<br />
programmes that the US Embassy was<br />
starting in time to come in order to make the VISA<br />
processing more user-friendly and quicker.<br />
Tawadey requested participants to send their suggestions<br />
to IACC to be taken up with the VISA department. He<br />
thanked Herman for addressing the participants. <br />

Roads, Transport & Highways<br />
