Webinar Session on Nadcap<br />
Audit Process & Accreditation<br />
The Karnataka Branch organized a Webinar Session on<br />
'Nadcap Audit Process & Tools To Obtain Nadcap<br />
Accreditation' on 11 August, 2010 supported by the<br />
Cisco WebEx conferencing facility.<br />
Venkat Raman, Committee Member, Karnataka Branch<br />
and MD at HIEKO, welcomed the speaker from London,<br />
Ms. Hannah Bryan Coordinator, EuropeeQuaLearn<br />
Industry Managed Programs, Research and<br />
Development, and briefed the participants about the<br />
session and future plans of Karnataka Branch for the<br />
aerospace sector.<br />
Ms. Hannah Bryan's session started with an introduction<br />
to NADCAP, which is the leading worldwide cooperative<br />
programme of major companies designed to manage a<br />
cost-effective consensus approach to special processes<br />
and products and provide continual improvement within<br />
the aerospace and automotive industries.<br />
The Webinar focused on a thorough review of the<br />
Nadcap audit process from beginning to end. The<br />
Webinar also guided participants to all the tools<br />
available to support the process of obtaining Nadcap<br />
accreditation and described the expectations of a<br />
Nadcap audit.<br />
Ms. Hannah spoke about the importance of the Nadcap<br />
accreditation and what it means for the business and<br />
customers. She presented examples helping the<br />
participants to understand the process as well as make<br />
them familiar with the system and website by physically<br />
taking them through it online.<br />

Seminar on New Triad Power:<br />
Dr. Sheth's Key Predictions<br />
The Karnataka Branch organized a seminar by Dr.<br />
Jagadish Sheth, Charles H. Kellstadt Professor of<br />
Marketing in the Goizueta Business School at Emory<br />
University, on 'The New Triad Power: Implications for US-<br />
India Strategic Alliance' on 23 July, 2010 at the Taj West<br />
End, Bangalore.<br />
The event covered the US-India strategic relationship with<br />
respect to trade and investment resulting in <strong>American</strong><br />
companies investing in India especially in defense,<br />
agriculture, energy and infrastructure. It also dealt in<br />
detail, investment by Indian multinationals in the US<br />
through large acquisitions since the old triad power (US,<br />
Europe and Japan) is shifting to new triad power (China,<br />
India and US).<br />
Opening the session, Dr. Sheth predicted that by 2025,<br />
India will dominate the IT industry and emerge as a major<br />
player in Aerospace. While the 20th century was driven<br />
by government policies of advanced nations, the 24th<br />
century will be driven by competitive markets of emerging<br />
nations.<br />
