<strong>Research</strong> <strong>Fellow</strong><br />

Overview<br />

The <strong>Research</strong> <strong>Fellow</strong> will report to the appropriate Principal Investigator and Project<br />

Manager <strong>for</strong> the project(s) they are working on.<br />

Responsibilities<br />

Working in collaboration with the Principal Investigator as a potential Co-Principal<br />

Investigator, the specific responsibilities of a <strong>Research</strong> <strong>Fellow</strong> (RF) include:<br />

1. To undertake and provide co-leadership in the shaping and implementation of one<br />

of the major themes of IAL <strong>Research</strong> which could include:<br />

• Policy and Practice related research<br />

• Work and work<strong>for</strong>ce development research<br />

• Training impact and economic development<br />

• Economic Strategies Report issues and national initiatives<br />

• Future CET development issues and scenarios<br />

2. To co-lead and co-support internal project teams and research projects within the<br />

relevant research field.<br />

3. To scope research needs and gaps in current knowledge in the specific fields of<br />

research <strong>for</strong> which the RF is responsible and prepare research proposals <strong>for</strong><br />

consideration by the Director <strong>Research</strong>.<br />

4. To assist in the development of research capability in IAL and more broadly within<br />

the CET community in Singapore in the specific fields of research <strong>for</strong> which the<br />

RF is responsible.<br />

5. To participate in relevant international and local research projects.<br />

6. To prepare research reports <strong>for</strong> publication and support the dissemination of<br />

research findings within the CET community.<br />

7. To support and facilitate, where appropriate, the implementation of the Visiting<br />

<strong>Research</strong> <strong>Fellow</strong>ship programme of IAL.<br />

Requirements<br />

1. A research-based degree preferably at doctorate or masters level.<br />

2. <strong>Research</strong> experience and a strong publications record in a relevant field in adult,<br />

vocational and continuing education.<br />

3. High level ability to design, structure, implement and document specific research<br />

initiatives in a relevant area of specialization.<br />

4. High level ability to write and document research findings and prepare research<br />

reports <strong>for</strong> publication.<br />

5. Capability to work confidently with other researchers in the industry and with the<br />

CET community.<br />

6. Good team and communication skills.<br />

7. Project management skills.<br />
