Junior <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> Shows Set for 2008<br />
The American <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> Junior <strong>Association</strong> (AGJA)<br />
has announced its show schedule for the 2008 season. Each<br />
year the AGJA sponsors two regional shows and one<br />
national show for its members to participate in. AGJA members<br />
that are 8 to 21 years of age on January 1, 2008 are<br />
eligible to participate in these events.<br />
The Colorado <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> <strong>Association</strong> will host the<br />
AGJA Western Regional. The event is set for June 12-14 at<br />
the Logan County Fairgrounds in Sterling, Colo. The threeday<br />
event will feature <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> and Balancer heifer shows,<br />
market steer show, bred and owned bull show, in addition<br />
to several leadership contests.<br />
The Tennessee <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> <strong>Association</strong> is hosting the<br />
AGJA Eastern Regional at the Middle Tennessee University<br />
facilities in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The event is scheduled for<br />
June 20-22. The three-day event will feature <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> and<br />
Balancer heifer shows, bred and owned bull show, and<br />
several leadership contests.<br />

The AGJA Blue Ridge Classic (National Junior Show)<br />
will be held July 6-11 in Waynesville, N.C. The North Carolina<br />
<strong>Gelbvieh</strong> <strong>Association</strong> and North Carolina <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> Junior<br />
<strong>Association</strong> are co-hosting the event with AGJA. It will<br />
feature a week of contests such as Poster, Photo, Impromptu<br />
Speaking, Quiz Bowl, Livestock Judging, Showmanship,<br />
Advertising, Creative Writing and <strong>Sale</strong>s Talk. The cattle shows<br />
will wrap up the week’s activities on Thursday and Friday.<br />
The ownership deadline for cattle exhibited in AGJAsponsored<br />
shows is June 1, 2008. Complete rule and entry<br />
packets for the three shows will be available in late April for<br />
