A large crowd was on hand for the first-ever joint sale
between the Kansas Gelbvieh Association and the Gelbvieh
Association In Nebraska. Quality ran deep in the offering and
buyers stepped up for an active sale.
Topping the offering at $5,500 each were a pair of
embryo transfer sisters from Boehler Gelbvieh of Orleans,
Neb. These double black, homozygous polled Balancer
heifers are daughters of GAR Integrity out of the EGL “Killer”
G565 cow. Jumping Cow Gelbvieh of Ramah, Colo., kept
these bred heifers together.
Jumping Cow hit again with a bid of $5,300 for the
Lot 22 open Balancer heifer from Boehler. This December
2006 daughter of BT Crossover 758N is out of a MRCO New
Direction 905.
Hart Farm of Kansas City, Kan., consigned the next
high selling lot with HFGC Vickie Vail 173T22. The Gerald L.
Clark Trust of Leawood, Kan., bid $5,250 for this polled
purebred open daughter of HFCG HF Roscoe 34P59 out of
a KIT Tabasco daughter.
Hill Top Haven Farm of Strange Creek, W. Va., took
home Lot 25 for a bid of $4,500. This consignment from
Goldrush Genetics of Guide Rock, Neb., is a homozygous
black, homozygous polled open Balancer heifer. BR Midland
sired this heifer out of a BEA Polled Midnight daughter.
Junior member Emily Knapp of Bonner Springs bid
$4,300 to own Lot 49 from Triple K Gelbvieh. KKKG Titillating
203T ET is a January 2007 daughter of PMG Pegasus 01P
out of a BTI Extra 2106K ET daughter.
Other top sellers include:
Lot 19: $4,250—Matthew Davidson of Duncan, S.C.,
purchased ELC Miss Flare, an SLC Freedom 178F ET daughter
from Cooper Gelbvieh of Burdett.
Lot 37: $4,000—Rocky Top Gelbvieh of Rocky
Comfort, Mo., purchased this homozygous black MLH
Goldrush Visa J40 daughter consigned by Goldrush Genetics.
Lot 31: $3,750—Junior member Chase Tabor of
Columbus won the bid on this Hinderks Nebraska 854
daughter out of a BDCG Black Bart daughter. Flint Hills
Gelbvieh from Alma was the consignor.
Lot 13: $3,700—ABCS Gelbvieh of Winthrop, Iowa,
won the bid on this homozygous black, homozygous polled
Balancer bred heifer. Two Step Ranch of Farley, Iowa,
brought this JCGR Bar GT Frank 32K ET daughter bred to
XXB Ludacris 039S ET.

Cold winter weather greeted buyers at the Eagle
Pass Ranch Big Event Female Sale. Many buyers came in
early to evaluate the females being offered for sale and to
tour the new feed efficiency unit at Eagle Pass Ranch.
Topping the offering was Lot 1, JDKG Vanna ET, the
2000-born daughter of WAM Stonewall out of the 1999
National Champion Female. When the bidding stopped,
Wattis Ranch of Casper, Wyo., was the winner at $9,000.
Bar None Ranch of Kentucky bought Lot 2, EGL
Pearl L023 ET for a bid of $7,750. This black polled daughter
of JCGR Bar GT Paradigm 2H ET is out of the great EGL
Phoebe cow.
Wattis Ranch hit again on the next two high sellers.
First was Lot 307, a black homozygous polled purebred
daughter of EGL Fosters out of a TLR Cocoa daughter for
$6,500. Gary Wattis also selected Lot 3, HAD Miss Buckeye
247H, for a bid of $6,250. Wattis rounded out his top selling
lots with Lot 189, EGL Cassandra M062 ET. This TLR Cocoa
35C daughter is out of BTI Black Wilma 2068H ET and
brought a $5,250 bid.
Rounding out the top sellers was Poker City Ranch
buying Lot 6, BNW Koala 0107K, an ELK CK Bronco daughter
that found a home in the Eagle Pass donor pen. The
winning bid was $5,250.
Volume buyers included: Jumping Cow Gelbvieh,
Colorado; Farlee Ranch, South Dakota; Slaathaug Ranch,
South Dakota; Steve Benesh, Illinois; and Scott Hamilton,
South Dakota.
