A large crowd was on hand for the first-ever joint sale<br />

between the Kansas <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> <strong>Association</strong> and the <strong>Gelbvieh</strong><br />

<strong>Association</strong> <strong>In</strong> <strong>Nebraska</strong>. Quality ran deep in the offering and<br />

buyers stepped up for an active sale.<br />

Topping the offering at $5,500 each were a pair of<br />

embryo transfer sisters from Boehler <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> of Orleans,<br />

Neb. These double black, homozygous polled Balancer<br />

heifers are daughters of GAR <strong>In</strong>tegrity out of the EGL “Killer”<br />

G565 cow. Jumping Cow <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> of Ramah, Colo., kept<br />

these bred heifers together.<br />

Jumping Cow hit again with a bid of $5,300 for the<br />

Lot 22 open Balancer heifer from Boehler. This December<br />

2006 daughter of BT Crossover 758N is out of a MRCO New<br />

Direction 905.<br />

Hart Farm of Kansas City, Kan., consigned the next<br />

high selling lot with HFGC Vickie Vail 173T22. The Gerald L.<br />

Clark Trust of Leawood, Kan., bid $5,250 for this polled<br />

purebred open daughter of HFCG HF Roscoe 34P59 out of<br />

a KIT Tabasco daughter.<br />

Hill Top Haven Farm of Strange Creek, W. Va., took<br />

home Lot 25 for a bid of $4,500. This consignment from<br />

Goldrush Genetics of Guide Rock, Neb., is a homozygous<br />

black, homozygous polled open Balancer heifer. BR Midland<br />

sired this heifer out of a BEA Polled Midnight daughter.<br />

Junior member Emily Knapp of Bonner <strong>Spring</strong>s bid<br />

$4,300 to own Lot 49 from Triple K <strong>Gelbvieh</strong>. KKKG Titillating<br />

203T ET is a January 2007 daughter of PMG Pegasus 01P<br />

out of a BTI Extra 2106K ET daughter.<br />

Other top sellers include:<br />

Lot 19: $4,250—Matthew Davidson of Duncan, S.C.,<br />

purchased ELC Miss Flare, an SLC Freedom 178F ET daughter<br />

from Cooper <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> of Burdett.<br />

Lot 37: $4,000—Rocky Top <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> of Rocky<br />

Comfort, Mo., purchased this homozygous black MLH<br />

Goldrush Visa J40 daughter consigned by Goldrush Genetics.<br />

Lot 31: $3,750—Junior member Chase Tabor of<br />

Columbus won the bid on this Hinderks <strong>Nebraska</strong> 854<br />

daughter out of a BDCG Black Bart daughter. Flint Hills<br />

<strong>Gelbvieh</strong> from Alma was the consignor.<br />

Lot 13: $3,700—ABCS <strong>Gelbvieh</strong> of Winthrop, Iowa,<br />

won the bid on this homozygous black, homozygous polled<br />

Balancer bred heifer. Two Step Ranch of Farley, Iowa,<br />

brought this JCGR Bar GT Frank 32K ET daughter bred to<br />

XXB Ludacris 039S ET.<br />

Eagle Pass Ranch Big Event Female <strong>Sale</strong><br />

December 2-4, 2007 - Highmore, S.D.<br />

101 Balancer Bred Heifers $1,542<br />

Cold winter weather greeted buyers at the Eagle<br />

Pass Ranch Big Event Female <strong>Sale</strong>. Many buyers came in<br />

early to evaluate the females being offered for sale and to<br />

tour the new feed efficiency unit at Eagle Pass Ranch.<br />

Topping the offering was Lot 1, JDKG Vanna ET, the<br />

2000-born daughter of WAM Stonewall out of the 1999<br />

National Champion Female. When the bidding stopped,<br />

Wattis Ranch of Casper, Wyo., was the winner at $9,000.<br />

Bar None Ranch of Kentucky bought Lot 2, EGL<br />

Pearl L023 ET for a bid of $7,750. This black polled daughter<br />

of JCGR Bar GT Paradigm 2H ET is out of the great EGL<br />

Phoebe cow.<br />

Wattis Ranch hit again on the next two high sellers.<br />

First was Lot 307, a black homozygous polled purebred<br />

daughter of EGL Fosters out of a TLR Cocoa daughter for<br />

$6,500. Gary Wattis also selected Lot 3, HAD Miss Buckeye<br />

247H, for a bid of $6,250. Wattis rounded out his top selling<br />

lots with Lot 189, EGL Cassandra M062 ET. This TLR Cocoa<br />

35C daughter is out of BTI Black Wilma 2068H ET and<br />

brought a $5,250 bid.<br />

Rounding out the top sellers was Poker City Ranch<br />

buying Lot 6, BNW Koala 0107K, an ELK CK Bronco daughter<br />

that found a home in the Eagle Pass donor pen. The<br />

winning bid was $5,250.<br />

Volume buyers included: Jumping Cow <strong>Gelbvieh</strong>,<br />

Colorado; Farlee Ranch, South Dakota; Slaathaug Ranch,<br />

South Dakota; Steve Benesh, Illinois; and Scott Hamilton,<br />

South Dakota.<br />
