Muhammad Ali is a legendary three-time world heavyweight boxing champion who was crowned<br />
Sportsman of <strong>the</strong> Century in 1999 by 'Sports Illustrated'. He was an incredibly important figure<br />
in <strong>the</strong> civil rights movement in <strong>the</strong> United States, who used his talent and his wit to draw public<br />
awareness to <strong>the</strong> inequality in American society. He has remained a figure of great influence<br />
commentating on injustices where he sees <strong>the</strong>m. Now, in retirement, he travels throughout <strong>the</strong><br />
world promoting social justice issues.<br />

Shamil Idriss is <strong>the</strong> director of <strong>the</strong> Alliance of Civilization's media fund. Prior to this he was<br />
director of <strong>the</strong> Search for Common Ground Organization where he facilitated <strong>the</strong> first public visit<br />
of Americans to Iran since 1979.<br />
khan, mansur<br />
Mansur is co-founder of <strong>the</strong> University Muslim Medical Association of Los Angeles; a full-time<br />
medical clinic which serves <strong>the</strong> city's poorest residents, and has succeeded and grown despite <strong>the</strong><br />
failure of many o<strong>the</strong>r similar charitable clinics.<br />

Farhana Khera is <strong>the</strong> executive director of Muslim Advocates and <strong>the</strong> National Association of Muslim<br />
Lawyers (NAML). Previously, she was counsel to <strong>the</strong> US Senate Judiciary Committee Subcommittee<br />
on <strong>the</strong> Constitution, Civil Rights, and Property Rights and focused on civil liberty issues in <strong>the</strong> US<br />
after September 11,2001.<br />
latif, imam khalid<br />
Imam Khalid Latif is <strong>the</strong> chaplain and director of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Islamic</strong> center at New York University and <strong>the</strong><br />
Muslim chaplain for <strong>the</strong> New York Police Department. He posts podcasts of his Friday sermons,<br />
which are regularly downloaded in 40-50 countries around <strong>the</strong> world, and works with many organizations<br />
within New York on interfaith relations. Interfaith relations remain incredibly important<br />
in New York after <strong>the</strong> events of September 11, 2001.<br />

Al Marayati is <strong>the</strong> executive director of <strong>the</strong> Muslim Public Affairs Council in Los Angeles. He is a<br />
journalist who writes in respected newspapers about <strong>the</strong> Middle East, Islam, and human rights.<br />
Additionally, he has promoted interfaith and cross-cultural dialogue between Muslims and non-<br />
Muslim Americans.<br />
nashashibi, rami<br />
Rami Nashashibi is <strong>the</strong> executive director of <strong>the</strong> Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN),<br />
a Chicago-based community organization. A community activist and an advocate for <strong>the</strong> poor<br />
living in inner cities, Nashashibi works on making Islam more relevant and significant to those<br />
living in urban areas.<br />
