In 1925 Fawcett set out to find what he believed to be an ancient city lost in Brazil’s tropical forests, but he and his companions would vanish without a trace. Along with new archaeological digs and the science behind the discovery of newly found jungle cities, there are clues pointing to the fate of Fawcett and his companions. 26 comedian, author, columnist, social commentator, vaudeville performer, movie and radio star. The modern searchers have meager clues about Fawcett but are armed with the information from new archaeological digs and the science behind the discovery of newly found jungle cities. 8:00 NOVA (D)(HD) “The Great Inca Rebellion” NOVA and National Geographic Television go to an impoverished suburb of Lima, Peru, where an ancient cemetery crammed with mummies is excavated by Peruvian archaeologist Guillerma Cock. With the help of forensic experts, the remains are revealed to be victims of a battle between clubwielding Inca warriors and the Spanish cavalry. (Rpt. 7/23) 9:00 Secrets of the Dead (HD) “Aztec Massacre” A new archaeological find outside of Mexico City belies the tale of Spanish Conquistadors being welcomed by the Aztecs as returning light-skinned gods. More than 400 bodies, at least 40 of whom are European, paint a picture of violent relations between the two groups. Scientists study the tales the bones tell as well as beautiful but grotesque codices that document the events. 10:00 Hustle When a tabloid publishes a scurrilous and false exposé on Stacie’s closest friend, team members creates a scenario to take in the editor and reporter responsible. This is reinforced when there is an apparent suicide at the same spot.
