� Nutricia distributes unsolicited supplies of Nutrilon<br />

to health facilities in the Dominican Republic which<br />

are subsequently distributed to mothers. Nutricia presents<br />

gifts of calendars, and blocks of notepads to<br />

health workers, all of which contains either the<br />

Bebelac 1 or Nutrilon brand names and the company<br />

name and logo.<br />

� In Argentina, Nutricia Bago provides unsolicited supplies<br />

of Kas 1000, L-K Infantil and Nutrilon Soya<br />

to health facilities. Health workers pass them on the<br />

mothers as free samples.<br />

distributes<br />

� Nutricia delivers Christmas hampers as<br />

gifts to a clinic in Curaçao. The company<br />

also supplies the clinic and a hospital<br />

in Curaçao with free formula.<br />

� A leaflet – “Diarrhoea in infants” –<br />

found at a clinic in Curaçao (<strong>Caribbean</strong>)<br />

claims that “Nutricia Infant<br />

Formulae are complete: they closely<br />

resemble breastmilk, not only composition,<br />

characteristics.”�<br />

from 4 months. The same facility gives<br />

out Nutricia bookmarks with colourful<br />

pack shots of 7 different brands of<br />

Nutricia company logo and the<br />

slogan “Nutricia Baby Feed-<br />

ing Specialists”. The statement<br />

on the importance of<br />

breastfeeding is included in a<br />

separate sheet which will<br />

easily fall out of the booklet.<br />

� Company representatives visit mothers at health facilities<br />

once or twice a month to promote Nutricia<br />

products such as Bebelac.<br />

as calendars, wall clocks, posters, pens, pencil cases,<br />

notebooks and growth charts bearing brand names<br />

Most of these items are put up on walls or desks where<br />

there are seen by the public.<br />

� Nutricia donates unsolicited supplies of Bebelac,<br />

Bebelac 1, Crème Nutricia, Nutrilon and Nutrilon<br />

Premium 1 to health facilities. In some cases, supplies<br />

are provided at special discounts or invoices are<br />

issued but are not followed up with payment collections.<br />
