Matrix with 28 sensors can be controlled with a single device, 80 with 2 devices When a key is touched 2 things happen: the key# pressed is written to the sense register generate an interrupt The interrupt will alert the microcontroller and the switch code can be read out. With accessing the I²C-bus the interrupt is cleared and the circuit is ready for the next touch.
