2012-145 AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COUNTY BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS TO SIGN A PUBLIC EASEMENT FOR THE PURPOSE
OF EXTENDING THE BERRY JUNCTION BIKE TRAIL THROUGH THE
MUSKEGON NORTH INDUSTRIAL PARK UNTIL RESCINDED BY THE
MUSKEGON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SUBJECT TO THE
APPROVAL OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY AND
THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY
The Administrator recommends, moved by Longmire, seconded by Snider,
to authorize the Chairman of the County Board of Commissioners to sign a
public easement for the purpose of extending the Berry Junction bike trail
through the Muskegon North Industrial Park until rescinded by the Muskegon
County Board of Commissioners subject to the approval of the Environmental
Protection Agency and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
Discussion followed. Commissioners felt that the Fred Meijer Berry Junction
bike trail was not only good for the County, but it was also good for the
industrial park.

ADOPT A RESOLUTION TO NOTIFY THE DEQ, THE APPROPRIATE
LEGISLATORS, THAT THEY ARE IN FAVOR OF THE BIKE TRAIL AND
TO MOVE IT FORWARD.
