Children & Youth Institute: 4-H Club Program
“As leaders we feel
it is our
responsibility to
teach the kids as
much as they can
absorb about the
species they
choose to own. We
want our kids to
excel in the show
ring, selection and
leadership. Our
4-H members love
4-H meetings,
getting together
with their friends in
4-H and look
forward to going to
Fair for the week
and showing off all
their hard work!”
~4-H Club Leader
Participation in the Muskegon County 4-H Youth Program provides young
people, ages 5-19, the education and experiences to become healthy,
productive citizens. Caring adults, serving as 4-H leaders, provide safe,
positive learning environments through 4-H Clubs, helping develop selfconfidence
and skills in leadership, organization, and citizenship.
The Muskegon County 4-H Youth Club Program is guided by a Leader’s
Council that meets the second Monday of every month at the fairgrounds.
Leaders and/or parents represent the 4-H clubs at the meetings. The 4-H
Leader’s Council guides the direction and educational opportunities for the
youth in the 4-H clubs.
