PRESENTATIONS<br />
The MSU Extension Annual Report was given by Kathryn Cummings, MSU District 5<br />
Coordinator. She gave an update on activities, educational programs, and staff.<br />
The Drain Commissioner’s Annual Report was given by David Fisher, <strong>County</strong> Drain<br />
Commissioner. He shared information on the county drains, their funding, as well as<br />
petitions which were received in the last year.<br />
PUBLIC COMMENT (on an agenda item)<br />
Mr. Sam St. Amour, Fruitland Township Supervisor, extended his support <strong>of</strong> the Fred<br />
Meijer Berry Rail Trail. Mr. St. Amour also stated that he felt <strong>County</strong> Administrator<br />
Hammersley has done an “extraordinary” job and deserves a reward.<br />

COMMITTEE REPORTS<br />
2012-124 AUTHORIZE ENTERING INTO A FEASIBILITY STUDY BETWEEN<br />
MUSKEGON COUNTY ENGINEERING STAFF AND THE S.S.<br />
MILWAUKEE CLIPPER’S ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS TO<br />
DETERMINE THE POTENTIAL OF MOVING THE SHIP TO A MORE<br />
PERMANENT, VISIBLE DOCK LOCATION IN DOWNTOWN MUSKEGON<br />
AT THE COUNTY-OWNED HERITAGE LANDING PROPERTY<br />
CD/SP 12/03-02 The Community Development/Strategic Planning Committee<br />
recommends, moved by Scolnik, seconded by Collins, to authorize<br />
entering into a feasibility study between <strong>Muskegon</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />
engineering staff and the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper’s engineering<br />
consultants to determine the potential <strong>of</strong> moving the ship to a more<br />
permanent, visible dock location in downtown <strong>Muskegon</strong> at the<br />
<strong>County</strong>-owned Heritage Landing property. This proposal is a study<br />
only, and there would be no cost to the <strong>County</strong> except staff time. No<br />
action to move the ship from its current location to Heritage Landing<br />
is implied or suggested at this time.<br />
