PRESENTATIONS
The MSU Extension Annual Report was given by Kathryn Cummings, MSU District 5
Coordinator. She gave an update on activities, educational programs, and staff.
The Drain Commissioner’s Annual Report was given by David Fisher, County Drain
Commissioner. He shared information on the county drains, their funding, as well as
petitions which were received in the last year.
PUBLIC COMMENT (on an agenda item)
Mr. Sam St. Amour, Fruitland Township Supervisor, extended his support of the Fred
Meijer Berry Rail Trail. Mr. St. Amour also stated that he felt County Administrator
Hammersley has done an “extraordinary” job and deserves a reward.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
2012-124 AUTHORIZE ENTERING INTO A FEASIBILITY STUDY BETWEEN
MUSKEGON COUNTY ENGINEERING STAFF AND THE S.S.
MILWAUKEE CLIPPER’S ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS TO
DETERMINE THE POTENTIAL OF MOVING THE SHIP TO A MORE
PERMANENT, VISIBLE DOCK LOCATION IN DOWNTOWN MUSKEGON
AT THE COUNTY-OWNED HERITAGE LANDING PROPERTY
CD/SP 12/03-02 The Community Development/Strategic Planning Committee
recommends, moved by Scolnik, seconded by Collins, to authorize
entering into a feasibility study between Muskegon County
engineering staff and the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper’s engineering
consultants to determine the potential of moving the ship to a more
permanent, visible dock location in downtown Muskegon at the
County-owned Heritage Landing property. This proposal is a study
only, and there would be no cost to the County except staff time. No
action to move the ship from its current location to Heritage Landing
is implied or suggested at this time.
