TRANSPORTING/STORAGE TRANSPORTING Do not lay the generator on its side when moving, storing, or operating it. Oil may leak and damage the engine or your property. If the generator has been used, allow it cool for at least 15 minutes before loading the generator on the transport vehicle. A hot engine and exhaust system can burn you and can ignite some material. When transporting the generator, turn the engine switch and the fuel valve OFF, and keep the generator level to reduce the possibility of fuel leakage. Take care not to drop or strike the generator when transporting. Do not place heavy objects on the generator. 58
STORAGE Before storing the unit for an extended period: 1. Be sure the storage area is free of excessive humidity and dust. 2. Service according to the table below: STORAGE TIME RECOMMENDED SERVICE PROCEDURE TO PREVENT HARD STARTING Less than 1 month No preparation required 1 to 2 months Fill with fresh gasoline and add gasoline conditioner *.
