D. Procedure for housing
1. Short Term Displacement
a. If the resident was not at fault for the cause of the displacement, then the rent will be
credited for the days the resident did not stay in the unit.
b. If it is determined the resident is at fault for the cause of the displacement, the
resident will be liable for all rent due, plus cost of repairs.
2. Long Term Displacement
The Property Manager will meet with the family to discuss the housing options
available for the family.
3. SAHA does not pay a per diem or meal costs for displaced residents.
4. If an emergency situation exists that threatens the health, safety or welfare of residents,
then the family will be required to relocate. In an emergency situation, if a family refuses
to move as requested, action can be taken against the family up to and including
eviction. The Property Manager will use all available resources, to include case
management coordination and third party resources to mitigate any circumstances the
residents may have before moving for eviction (e.g., resident refuses to move). Eviction
should only be considered when all other alternatives have been exhausted.
E. Follow Up
1. The Property Manager shall ensure that all actions are well documented in the
Property Management software under the notes section.
2. The Property Manager shall ensure that the department Director is notified,
approves and signs any necessary documentation.
3. On a weekly basis, the Property Manager shall conduct a documented follow-up
visit with the resident regarding the status of the temporary displacement.
