SENATE BILL NO. 18—<br />

BY SENATORS HOLLIS AND BAJOIE<br />

AN ACT<br />

To enact R.S. 51:293.1, relative to the name of the Superdome<br />

building; to require certain conditions in any agreement to<br />

transfer the right to designate and use a name for the stadium<br />

facility; and to provide for related matters.<br />

The bill was read by title. Returned from the House of<br />

Representatives with the following amendments:<br />

HOUSE COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS<br />

Amendments proposed by House Committee on Appropriations to<br />

Re-reengrossed <strong>Senate</strong> Bill No. 18 by Senators Hollis and Bajoie<br />

AMENDMENT NO. 1<br />

On page 1, line 2, after "building;" and before "to" insert "to authorize<br />

the transfer of the right to designate and use an alternative name and<br />

trademarks for the <strong>Louisiana</strong> Superdome;"<br />

AMENDMENT NO. 2<br />

On page 1, at the beginning of line 11, insert:<br />

"A. The <strong>Louisiana</strong> Stadium and Exposition District is<br />

authorized to sell or transfer the right to designate and use an<br />

alternative name to refer to the <strong>Louisiana</strong> Superdome, including the<br />

rights to those trademarks, service marks, and trade names associated<br />

with the <strong>Louisiana</strong> Superdome as provided in R.S. 51:293.<br />

B."<br />

AMENDMENT NO. 3<br />

On page 2, line 1, after "franchise" and before "terminates" insert:<br />

"provides notice to the league, or to the <strong>Louisiana</strong> Stadium and<br />

Exposition District of its intent to relocate the franchise, or enters<br />

into any agreement with any other entity to relocate the franchise<br />

from the city of New Orleans, or<br />

AMENDMENT NO. 4<br />

On page 2, line 2, after "facility" and after the comma "," and before<br />

"shall" delete "the monies" and insert "all subsequent monies payable<br />

from royalties and other payments under such agreement"<br />

Senator Hollis moved to concur in the amendments proposed by<br />

the House.<br />

BY SENATOR LAMBERT (BY REQUEST)<br />

AN ACT<br />

To enact R.S. 47:463.83, relative to prestige plates; to authorize the<br />

issuance of a special prestige license plate for Beta Sigma Phi; to<br />

provide for the design of the plate and a contract regarding the<br />

payment of a royalty fee to Beta Sigma Phi for use of its logo;<br />

and to provide for related matters.<br />

The bill was read by title. Returned from the House of<br />

On page 2, at the end of line 5, change the period "." to a comma ","<br />

and insert the following: "provided that there is a minimum of one<br />

hundred applicants for such plate."
