Something BIG is happening with
Star AwARds this month because
all Star Award recipients this month
receive a free Ned armband. This is
your only chance this year to get a
free NED armband.
On Tuesday 16 October the Preps went Whale Watching on
the Pacific Whale Foundation vessel. The Preps learnt a lot
about the different types of whales and their behaviour.
We were able to see mother whales and their calves, a sea
turtle, jellyfish and dolphins. It was a beautiful day out on
the water and the Preps thoroughly enjoyed the
experience. Thank you to all of the parents and
grandparents who helped out on the day.
PREP WHALE WATCHING TRIP
Year 1 to 3 Sleepover Camp Friday 2 November
This year we are planning a Sleepover Camp for Year 1 to 3
students. This is a non‐compulsory camp. As well as being
a fun night away it will also introduce children to the
Riverside camping program. A letter has been sent home
with details and permission form. Please return form with
payment by Tuesday 23 October.
Year 2 End of Year Excursion Tuesday 30 October
This year we plan to celebrate the end of year with an
excursion to Round Island. We will be travelling on a glass
bottom boat and looking at why it is important to take care
of our waterways. The children will also be looking at the
reef and rock pools surrounding the island. A letter has
been sent home with details and permission form. Please
return form with payment by Thursday 25 October.
Children’s Day in the Park
On Thursday 25 October the Prep classes will be travelling
to Queens Park for the annual Children’s Day in the Park.
Not only will the children be participating in a variety of
fun, educational activities but they will also be performing
“The Lion King” for the entertainment of the community.
We will also be requiring parent helpers to assist during the
day both with the small groups and with the performance.
If you do not have any younger siblings to supervise we
would greatly appreciate your help on the day. If you do
have younger siblings you are most welcome to join us but
without any supervisory responsibilities.
A form has been sent home, please complete and return to
Student Reception by 9am Tuesday 23 October.
