Annual Sport Awards Evening<br />

Invitations were extended to those students who have<br />

achieved certificates for their sporting achievements this year.<br />

The Sports evening was an entertaining night with the<br />

students marching into the function to light the Olympic<br />

flame.<br />

Congratulations to all recipients and we look forward to an<br />

even bigger and better event next year.<br />

day event in Toowoomba and<br />

placed 1st in the Junior<br />

Community & Recreation—FISHING<br />

Those students who selected FISHING as their preferred<br />

activity for Community and Recreation on Thursday during<br />

Term 4, will depart at 1:10pm by <strong>College</strong> bus to either<br />

Lamington Bridge Pontoon or Salt Water Creek Bridge<br />

depending on tidal movement.<br />

Students will be required to provide their own tackle, bait and<br />

rods. If they wish to keep their fish they will also need to<br />

bring an esky for transport.<br />

They are to take their lunch and a water bottle with them.<br />

Rookies2Reds Program Here at <strong>Riverside</strong>!<br />

When: 5 Week Program Tuesdays after school<br />

Term 4 starting 30 October, 3:30pm to 4:30pm.<br />

Age: Prep to 10 year olds (boys and girls).<br />

How to get involved: Go on the website, follow the<br />

instructions and register.<br />

Cost: $80 for the full five week program, which you<br />

pay via credit card on the website when you<br />

register (this includes the gear you will be given as<br />

part of the program).<br />

National Futsal Championships<br />

During the September holidays Timothy Gibson travelled<br />

to Townsville for the National Futsal Championships.<br />

He was in the U15 Qld Country team. His team won the<br />

championships 2 ‐1 in the Grand Final. (This is a first for<br />

Qld Country ‐ they have never won before.) Teams came<br />

from all States and New Zealand. A great achievement<br />

for Tim and his team mates.<br />

Equine Cross Country Clinic<br />

Brett Cantle tutored students on the 18 October for a<br />

full‐day Cross Country Clinic. The next Clinic with Brett<br />

Cantle will be held 15 November.<br />

Interschool Sports Term 4<br />

Those students who expressed an interest in Interschool<br />

Sport this term, competing against students from other<br />

schools in the district, will take part during Friday<br />

afternoon sport and will occur from Friday, 26 October,<br />

through to Friday, 23 November.<br />

Students will travel by <strong>Riverside</strong> bus, departing at<br />

12:30pm and returning by 2:30pm.<br />

The locations are as follows:‐<br />

Softball Fields on Searle Street<br />

Touch Football Fields on Sydney Street<br />

Basketball Courts on Ariadne Street<br />

Cricket Grounds on Ariadne Street<br />

Students participating will be required to wear the full<br />

and correct Sports Uniform. It is expected, as<br />

representatives of <strong>Riverside</strong>, that appropriate behaviour<br />

will be displayed at all times.<br />

Community & Recreation—TENNIS<br />

Those students who selected TENNIS will be playing at<br />

the Maryborough Association Courts as their<br />

Community & Recreation activity on Thursday<br />

afternoons during Term 4.<br />

Students will leave the <strong>College</strong> at 1:30pm and travel by<br />

<strong>College</strong> bus to the Tennis Courts. They will return by<br />

2:45pm in time for <strong>College</strong> buses.<br />

Students will need:<br />

<strong>College</strong> Sports Uniform (including hat)<br />

Water bottle<br />

Tennis Racquet (if possible)<br />
