TUITION COSTS<br />

The following costs are in effect at the<br />

time of publication, beginning with the fall<br />

<strong>2005</strong> term.<br />

Undergraduate students<br />

Full-time (12–20 credits*)<br />

Each semester $13,820<br />

Credits in excess of 20 credits<br />

per credit $880<br />

Part-time (0.5–11.99 credits)<br />

Each credit/credit hour $880<br />

Zero credit remedial courses $3,340<br />

Graduate students<br />

Each unit $950<br />

*All credits/units in excess of 20 are charged at the<br />

per credit/unit rate.<br />

Tuition rates are set by the Polytechnic<br />

Board of Trustees. Due primarily to economic<br />

conditions and inflationary costs,<br />

the University reserves the right to change<br />

tuition charges and fees when it is deemed<br />

necessary. The University is mindful of<br />

the economic challenges of attending a<br />

first-rate private school such as Polytechnic;<br />

accordingly, the University will continue to<br />

make every effort to keep cost increases to<br />

the lowest possible level consistent with<br />

maintaining educational quality.<br />

Tuition covers instruction costs, use of<br />

the Dibner Library and the facilities of the<br />

Office of Student Development.<br />

Maintenance of Study $175<br />

1. University Fee covers network technology support,<br />

decentralized network printers, access to<br />

computer labs and remote dial-up access to the<br />

University network.<br />

2. To be applied toward first term’s tuition.<br />

3. Lists of these charges, by course, are given in the<br />

Schedule of Classes.<br />

4. Charged to all continuing students who register<br />

on or after the first day of classes<br />

5. Charged to all students who elect to participate<br />

in the University’s deferment program because<br />

they are receiving reimbursement from their<br />

employer.<br />

Other fees include the returned check fee,<br />

late payment penalty fee and, for transfer<br />

students, possible charges for supplies or<br />

kits.<br />

All fees are nonrefundable.<br />

HOUSING<br />

Housing is available on the Brooklyn campus<br />

and varies by type of accommodations.<br />

For more information, contact the<br />

Office of Residence Life. A deposit is<br />

also required.<br />

PAYMENT OF TUITION AND FEES<br />

Each semester, tuition and fee payments are<br />

due in full from all students at the time of<br />

registration.* The University reserves the<br />

right to de-register students from classes and<br />

deny access to campus buildings if payment<br />

or payment arrangements are not made at<br />

the time of registration. Payment in full<br />

refers to various methods, used alone or in<br />

combination, including cash, check, money<br />

order or credit card (Visa, MasterCard,<br />

American Express and Discover only),<br />

financial aid, grants and loans or tuition<br />

arrangements authorized by the Office of<br />

Student Accounts. Evidence of financial aid<br />

must be presented to the Office of Student<br />

Accounts in order to use the anticipated aid<br />

to satisfy tuition costs.<br />

Tuition must be paid in full, including<br />

disbursement of loans and all other aid, in<br />

order to receive permission to register for<br />

the next semester. Students participating in<br />

a payment plan or the graduate deferment<br />

plan must pay in full according to the rules<br />

of the plan. The University reserves the<br />

right to withhold transcripts, diplomas and<br />

other services, including registration and<br />

participation in graduation activities, from<br />

students whose financial obligations have<br />

not been fully met.<br />

*This does not apply to early registration. In this<br />

case, payment is due by the date specified in the<br />

tuition biling invoice, usually about one month prior<br />

to the start of classes.<br />

PAYMENT OPTIONS<br />

The University provides monthly, by<br />

semester and yearly payment options. The<br />

monthly tuition payment plan is available<br />
