Sharing Her Talents
Beatrice Flucas knows what it means to give back to the community you live in.
Her volunteer experience spans a lifetime of seeing a need in the community and
sharing her talents with others. She was recognized as RHF’s 2008 Volunteer of
the Year for her work on behalf of the residents of North Capitol at Plymouth.
Beatrice lives in Baltimore, but comes to North Capitol at Plymouth twice a week
to teach sewing and arts & crafts. She brings all the supplies needed for the projects
and, sometimes, even brings lunch!
Beatrice writes, “Thinking again of those who have helped and blessed my
life, the list is long. Topping the list is God. We are all born with a gift, and
it is up to us what we do with it.”
Doing the Little Extra Things
Linda Forsberg’s 13 years as Manager of 300 Main in Estacada, Oregon
were recognized when she was named as RHF’s 2008 Manager of the Year.
Bruce Burke, her regional manager says,“Her many ties with residents
and her community involvement have made Linda a well-known personality
and a force in the small community of Estacada.”
Her residents will tell you,”She is never too busy to do that little extra that
makes us all happy to call 300 Main our home.”
Congratulations to all, your committment helps RHF and its mission of
providing affordable housing for older adults, economically disadvantaged
families and persons with disabilities.
