RECREATION DEPARTMENT MISSION STATEMENT<br />
The Parks and Recreation Department for the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Charlottetown</strong> will strive<br />
to enhance the quality <strong>of</strong> life for the people who live and work within our<br />
municipality, as well as for those who visit. We will encourage and provide<br />
the leadership for the development <strong>of</strong> safe, accessible, diverse and high quality<br />
recreational opportunities. The Parks and Recreation Department will utilize<br />
the four benefit areas <strong>of</strong> parks and recreation as the frame work from which to<br />
evaluate its programs, services and facilities which include the personal, social,<br />
economic and environmental benefits <strong>of</strong> participation.<br />
