As far as knowledge <strong>in</strong>teraction and relationship with the tourist is concerned, 83% <strong>of</strong> the<br />

children said that they knew who the tourists were. The general identification <strong>of</strong> a tourist<br />

was a person with white sk<strong>in</strong> and light hair; also referred <strong>in</strong> their word as “khaire”. 62%<br />

<strong>of</strong> the children said that they had met tourists at least once. However; only 51% <strong>of</strong> the<br />

children said that they had some relationship with the tourists. 14% responded it to be<br />

very strong and 37% responded that the relationship was medium.<br />

Many <strong>of</strong> the children did not know the exact orig<strong>in</strong> <strong>of</strong> the tourist; some <strong>of</strong> the children<br />

used physical features to describe the tourists. Accord<strong>in</strong>g to what children said, they met<br />

tourists <strong>of</strong> vary<strong>in</strong>g orig<strong>in</strong> rang<strong>in</strong>g from European, American and South Asian.<br />

3.1.6. Help from the Tourists<br />

As far as help received form the tourists is concerned, the 54% <strong>of</strong> the children said that<br />
