“By day, I’m a catalogue designer for
Anthropologie. At night, I’m at work in
the studio making handmade books,” says
alumna E Bond. Bond’s handmade books
are sold in The Art Shop at Moore and two
of the books are in 500 Handmade Books:
Inspiring Interpretations of a Timeless Form
recently published by Lark Books.

alumnae. “The friends you make at Moore
and the teaching environment are what set
Moore apart,” she says. “The College really
supports an independent entrepreneurial
spirit. As a student, I was able to pursue my
many interests, to study Graphic Design
and Illustration and minor in Art History.”
Bond who teaches on occasion at Moore,
also returns to campus to participate in
portfolio reviews for the Graphic Design
students. “My connection with Moore is
ongoing,” Bond says. “For all it’s given me,
I’m glad to be able to give back. It is really
rewarding to work with designers who are
just beginning to learn the craft.”
“This year I was invited to be an artist
for the boot project to celebrate Moore’s
160 years. From the perspective of an artist,
alumna and a teacher, I’m able to see how
special Moore is, when really, I knew it
all along.”
