financial holding company in Taiwan, is
rumoured to have received a merger offer
from Waterland Financial Holdings, an
affiliate in Taiwan.
3,090 Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group will form a
51-49 joint venture with Kazakhstan based
International Mineral Resources. The new
company will be worth CNY 21.169bn.
TMT 2,742 Lenovo Group Limited, the HK listed
Chinese computer manufacturer, is
rumoured to undergo a substantial
restructuring plan to cope with the current
economic situation, which might include
M&A and changes in senior management.

SINA Corporation TMT Fosun International 1,171 SINA Corporation, the US listed Chinese
internet portal issued 47m new shares
to Focus Media, the ADR listed Chinese
media company. Fosun International,
the HK listed Chinese company acquired
13.3% stake in Focus Media. It was
rumoured that Fosun will ultimately
acquire SINA.
