4. CASE STUDIES<br />

In order to explore some of the themes identified above, four <strong>CAMHS</strong> were selected<br />

to study in depth from the 83 respondents who expressed an interest in participating in<br />

further research. There was a huge range of interesting practice, <strong>and</strong> it was hard to<br />

select case studies. On the basis of factors identified from the literature review, two<br />

sets of criteria were used to select the case studies. (See chapter 2 for criteria used for<br />

identifying the case studies). Much of the work conducted below is innovative, <strong>and</strong><br />

has not been operational for long: it should be seen as work in progress. The aim of<br />

investigating these structures <strong>and</strong> practice is to learn from their experience to date.<br />

The following sections provide detailed descriptions of the structure <strong>and</strong> practice of<br />

the case studies individually. The chart below summarises the structure <strong>and</strong> context of<br />

the case studies.<br />
