Fans who double as carnivores may want to add Shula’s America’s Steak House to their schedule. The restaurant, located inside Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino, gives customers a glimpse into the career of the winningest coach in NFL history, Don Shula, and a one-of-a-kind dining experience. Themed after the Shula-coached 1972 Miami Dolphins, the only NFL team to record a perfect season, Shula’s America’s Steak House opened last year at Wild Horse Pass Boulevard and Interstate 10. Shula opened his first steak house in Miami Lakes, Fla. in 1989. Since then Shula’s unique steaks and legendary sports memorabilia have found their way into more than 20 restaurants, predominantly on the East Coast and in the Midwest. Shula’s Arizona location is its only restaurant west of Houston, Tex. Chef Colin Ribble, a 20-year veteran of the culinary arts, boasts of the quality of meat used at Shula’s. “It really is above and beyond,” Ribble says. The upscale yet comfortable restaurant has an inviting lobby, featuring a picturesque wine display, photos of Shula and his family, and, of course, several autographed footballs. 14 InMaricopa.com | Vol. 5 Issue 3
