Basantol ® U liquid dyestuffs are storage-stable dyestuff solutions
(liquid dyestuffs) with good fastness properties and wide dilutability.
They are optimized for the application in water-based solventcontaining
wood stains.
Basantol ® U liquid dyes contain metal complex dyes with high
light fastness in a water/solvent mixture of butyldiglykol, methoxypropanol
and water. The exact solvent composition has been
optimized for each dyestuff.
After application and drying Basantol ® U liquid dyes have very
good overcoating fastness under waterborne – conventional and
UV-curing – topcoat systems.
Remark: For the evaluation of light fastness the liquid dyes
were applied at 3 % dyestuff content in a water-borne paint with
a 100 µm spiral applicator to white cardboard.
The adjustment of each batch of Basantol ® U dye to constant
tinting strength leads to variation in the dyestuff content between
batches. The values in the table are rounded to the nearest percent.
Physical form: low-viscosity liquids
Shelf life: In sealed original containers, the products can be stored
between 5 °C (41 °F) and 40 °C (104 °F) for at least 12 months.
Opened containers should be closed tightly after each use.
