Modern Language Association (MLA)
The MLA style is the most common format to write papers and to cite sources within liberal arts
and humanities. The PVHS Writing Manual, updated to reflect the MLA Handbook for Writers of
Research Papers (7th ed.), offers examples for the general format of MLA research papers, intext
