Appropriate data are unavailable on the species’ biology, distribution and abundance (except in the Strait<br />
of Gibraltar) in the Mediterranean region. Therefore, it is impossible to assess, either directly or indirectly,<br />
the conservation status of long-fi nned pilot whales in the Mediterranean.<br />
