This course is designed for writers who want to learn<br />

how to write effective web content. Students will<br />

learn how to focus on the reader, set the tone on a<br />

home page, write pathway pages that are focused<br />

and well designed, and effectively use headings,<br />

illustrations, and links to add interest and readability.<br />

Students will practice writing web content in class<br />

Using the “Track Changes” feature in Microsoft<br />

Word, edit text for consistency and conciseness and<br />

Technical Writing<br />

Certificate Capstone<br />

The Technical Writing Certificate Program culminates<br />

in a Capstone project in which candidates<br />

demonstrate mastery of certificate program objectives.<br />

Students work individually to develop and<br />

write a technical document that will demonstrate<br />

technical writing skills. A faculty instructor supports<br />

the student throughout the project and provides<br />

performance feedback at the completion of the Capstone.<br />

Please come to the first in-session class with<br />

three-to five how-to topic ideas. Registration is by<br />

permission only due to the prerequisite of successful<br />

completion of all required courses. Please contact<br />
