Lost in the Woods
Based on the award winning children’s
book by the same name, the forest is abuzz
over a newborn fawn. Various creatures
have spotted him and all are worried that
he might be lost. Despite his assurance that
he’s just waiting for his mother, the animals
chime in with comments and offers of
help. She returns, time passes, and the
fawn grows stronger. He sees other young
animals maturing, and at the end of the
story, he is big enough to go exploring with
his mother. Running time 40 minutes. We
will read the book together and then enjoy
the movie!

PROGRAM
Sign up now for more information about
the Master Naturalist Training Program.
Each winter join the City of Bellevue for
an environmental training program that
teaches our City’s community members
about the area’s ecology, hydrology, geology,
wildlife and cultural history. This training
program is FREE, with a commitment of
100 volunteer hours spread over 2 years.

THE ECOLOGICAL HOME
Although most of us didn’t build or buy
a green home there is a lot we can do to
make our home, apartment, or condo
more ecologically sustainable. Join a
Mercer Slough park ranger to learn some
simple ways to make your home (both
indoors and outdoors) a more sustainable
place. We will focus on simple and
inexpensive methods. The ranger will be
available afterward to lead a brief tour of
the Environmental Education Center - a
Gold-Certified LEED facility.

Learn the basics of nature photography.
Come find out what those settings on
your camera do and how they affect your
photos. Whether you’re trying to show off
a tiny mushroom or capture the mountains
in the distance, your photos can show
your love for the outdoors. Bring your
DLSR and we’ll practice connecting to
nature through photography. Registeration
