Sgt. Linda Mixon, Sgt. Eric Mixon and daughter Alexandra worked the Key Colony Beach Days rubber ducky races, sponsored by Zonta. Funds from the race will benefit scholarships for local kids. Sgt. Linda Mixon and Reserves Dan Zeig and Rose Crum were on hand to help out with the Kair race in Marathon last weekend. Jeanne Selander and the Sheriff’s <strong>Office</strong> Animal Farm attended Conchfest at Bayview Park in Key West last weekend with a number of animals. The farm was the hit of the festival!!! Above and below, Lt. Patrick Major, always willing to help out the community, turned out with inmates recently to eliminate a large amount of graffiti at Key Largo Mini-Storage. District Seven also worked with Public Works and Florida Keys Electric Co-op to eliminate other areas defaced by graffiti in the vicinity of Card Sound Road and State Road 905. Safeco’s Community Hero Safeco Insurance Company recognized “Community Hero” Don Hiller and presented him with a plaque and a $5000 check for the Pigeon Key Foundation. Above and to the right, District Seven held its formal station inspection recently with everyone turning out dressed to the nines and ship shape!!! Sgt. Linda Mixon and Detectives Rosa Digiovanni and Geni Hernandez attended a Zonta heart disease awareness workshop recently. On the right, Larry O’Neill and his cadets from Plantation Key School learned about the benefits of fitness and visited the Upper Keys Sheriff’s <strong>Office</strong> gym this week. The Lower Keys Relay for Life team raised $700 last weekend at their second annual Dance-a-thon held at the White Street Pier in Key West. Weekly Rap Up - Page 5
