The Cbief of the Air Staff asked that it be postponed<br />

until Ij May 13GO when the 25th <strong>NORAD</strong> Division SAGE<br />

combat center became operational. By that date, the<br />

RCAP would have the required personnel in place at the<br />

25th. <strong>NORAD</strong> agreed and on 19 Febl·uary aevised all<br />

parties of this postponement.<br />

<strong>NORAD</strong> Region, effect:ive 10 June HI,.. ~ (th::.; date of the<br />

<strong>NORAD</strong> Terms of Reference), with j·it'adquartcrs at RCAF<br />

Station, St. Hubert~ <strong>NORAD</strong> designated t;.l.l~ commander of<br />

the RCAF ADC as commandor of the KNR and advised him by<br />

me~sage that the staff of the RCAr ADC would hav~: to be<br />

used for <strong>NORAD</strong> work until separatf manning was approved.<br />

and COSC for the NNR Headquarters On 24 <strong>Dec</strong>ember 1958,<br />

the JCS concurred in <strong>NORAD</strong>'s nE"ed for the U. S. manpower<br />
