B> STU GOLDSTEIN
Associate Editor
The adorable cast of almost human puppets
known as the Muppets has been been steadily
climbing the ladder to fame and fortune for
the past few years. Now their first starring
feature film. AFD's "The Muppet Movie."
which features the antics of Kermit the Frog.
Miss Piggy and all the rest, has captured the
hearts, as well as the dollars of America. It has
also captured the Boxoh li ! Blue Ribbon
Award as the besi picture of the month for
June.
There were some strong pictures on the
ballot that the Muppet clan managed to make
mincemeat out of. "The In Laws" came in se
cond place, followed h> Sylvester Stallone in
"Rocky " II The current James Bond feature.
"Moonraker." managed a fourth place showing
and Clint Eastwood and his "Escape From
Alcatraz" pulled only a fifth place It looks as
though Kermit was strong enough to beat out
the three tough guys.
Losers of the June ballot included "The
Main Event." "The French Detective." and
"Newsfront." in that order; "Prophecy" completely
missed the boat by not getting even one
vote.
