據 香 港 旅 遊 發 展 局 公 布 數 字 ,2011 年
根 全 年 訪 港 旅 客 量 突 破 4,100 萬 人 次 , 較
2010 年 同 期 上 升 16.4%, 預 計 到 了 2020 年 , 訪
港 旅 客 將 增 至 5,700 萬 。 為 鞏 固 香 港 作 為 「 亞 洲
盛 事 之 都 」 的 地 位 , 政 府 正 積 極 舉 辦 各 項 精 采
節 目 , 以 吸 引 更 多 旅 客 及 延 長 其 留 港 時 間 。
要 成 功 舉 辦 精 采 盛 事 , 活 動 策 劃 人 才 需 求 若 渴 。 因
此 , 本 學 院 金 融 商 業 學 院 特 於 1 月 13 日 舉 辦 了 「 節
日 及 盛 事 管 理 講 座 : 成 功 策 劃 盛 事 的 要 『 秘 』」,
與 有 志 投 身 活 動 策 劃 行 業 的 人 士 , 分 享 講 者 寶 貴
經 驗 。

當 日 共 邀 請 了 三 位 盛 事 策 劃 業 界 專 家 , 包 括 香 港
欖 球 總 會 欖 球 事 務 及 發 展 總 監 麥 偉 彬 先 生 , 前 第
29 屆 奧 林 匹 克 運 動 會 馬 術 比 賽 ( 香 港 ) 有 限 公 司 運
行 就 緒 部 主 管 、 應 急 計 劃 及 危 急 情 況 管 理 專 家 黎
黃 婉 莉 女 士 , 以 及 UBM Medica 營 運 總 監 陳 秀 薇
女 士 。
麥 偉 彬 先 生 指 出 , 在 項 目 籌 辦 過 程 中 , 與 合 作 單
位 保 持 密 切 聯 繫 十 分 重 要 , 活 動 的 每 個 細 節 都 必
須 兼 顧 , 尤 其 著 重 每 個 步 驟 的 時 間 掌 控 。
黎 黃 婉 莉 女 士 則 分 享 了 危 急 管 理 的 經 驗 , 並 帶 出
策 劃 大 型 活 動 的 三 大 必 要 元 素 : 設 計 和 協 調 緊 急
應 變 規 則 的 工 作 、 準 備 應 急 方 案 及 演 練 , 以 及 規
劃 和 操 作 控 制 中 心 的 營 運 等 。
陳 秀 薇 女 士 認 為 要 策 劃 一 個 成 功 的 活 動 , 必 須 先
瞭 解 活 動 本 身 的 特 質 及 目 的 , 才 能 充 分 發 揮 活 動
的 吸 引 力 , 然 後 就 是 控 制 人 力 和 時 間 資 源 , 最 後
尋 找 合 適 的 活 動 策 劃 專 才 , 妥 善 安 排 工 作 。
Statistics from HKTB show that the annual
visitor arrivals passed the 41 million mark
in 2011, exceeding 2010 by 16.4%. Annual
visitors will reach 57 million by 2020 according
to forecasts. To maintain and reinforce Hong
Kong’s position as the Events Capital of
Asia, the Government has taken a proactive
approach in attracting more visitors by staging
world-class events with incentives to lengthen
their stay in Hong Kong.
With this growth, more professional event planners
are in demand in various positions to plan, organise
and stage mega events successfully. To echo this,
the HKU SPACE College of Business & Finance held
a forum on 13 January 2012 to unfold the secrets of
successful event planning to event planners.
Behind the scenes with event experts
Three distinguished guests invited to share their
experiences included Mr. Robbie McRobbie, Head
of Community & Development, Hong Kong Rugby
Football Union; Mrs. Lai Wong Yuen Lee, Former
Team Head of Operational Readiness Division of the
Equestrian Events (Hong Kong) of the Games of the
XXIX Olympiad Company Limited; and Ms Jasmine
Chan, Head of Operations, UBM Medica.
Mr. McRobbie started the session by shedding light
on the planning of the world-famous Hong Kong
Rugby Sevens. To him, one of the key success
factors is to keep close contact with co-organisers
at all stages of planning. It is also essential to pay
attention to details and maintaining a good time
management plan.
Mrs. Lai highlighted three mandatory elements for
effective risk management of large scale events.
They include designing and conducting readiness
exercises, testing contingency plans and carefully
setting an Operation Control Centre to handle crisis
at events in a smooth and effective manner.
Ms Chan said that the key to a successful event is to
have a thorough understanding of its characteristics
and objectives, both instrumental in making the event
highly attractive. Subsequently, events planners
need to monitor manpower and time requirements
closely. To pull over a mega-event successfully, Ms
Chan concluded by saying ‘Hire the right people who
have the professional skills in event planning and
place them in the right positions’

於 公 元 前 469 年 , 古 希 臘 哲 學 家 蘇 格 拉 底
早 (Socrates) 創 先 以 提 問 方 式 啟 迪 學 生 ,
「 教 練 概 念 」 由 始 萌 起 。 教 練 會 與 對 象 建 立 互
信 , 並 以 欣 賞 的 態 度 及 前 瞻 的 對 話 , 協 助 對 方
瞭 解 自 身 的 優 點 與 限 制 , 從 而 釐 清 目 標 , 發 揮
多 元 智 慧 , 有 效 達 成 目 標 , 促 進 個 人 成 長 。
近 年 教 練 行 業 已 不 只 局 限 於 體 育 領 域 , 繼 有 協 助
達 成 個 人 目 標 的 個 人 教 練 (personal coaches) 及
商 業 目 標 的 企 業 教 練 (corporate coaches), 亦 發
展 出 行 政 教 練 (executive coaches)、 職 業 教 練
(career coaches) 、 理 財 教 練 (financial coaches)
等 不 同 專 業 。

教 練 學 (Coaching) 在 英 、 美 、 澳 等 國 家 發 展 逾
20 年 , 不 少 企 業 均 已 建 立 教 練 文 化 (Coaching
Culture)。 亞 洲 許 多 跨 國 企 業 如 IBM、 安 永 會 計
師 事 務 所 (Ernst2& Young)、 敦 豪 全 球 貨 運 物 流
(DHL) 等 , 亦 已 把 教 練 學 應 用 在 管 理 及 人 才 發 展
系 統 上 。「 教 練 學 」 發 展 至 今 , 已 成 為 繼 資 訊 科
技 行 業 後 , 增 長 最 快 的 一 個 新 興 行 業 , 極 具 發 展
潛 力 。
教 練 學 於 90 年 代 末 引 入 香 港 , 逐 漸 成 為 一 門 新 興
的 管 理 概 念 及 具 規 模 的 專 業 服 務 。 現 時 約 有 百 多
名 中 外 教 練 在 香 港 執 業 , 其 服 務 對 象 多 為 亞 洲 及
大 中 華 區 的 跨 國 企 業 , 至 於 在 本 地 企 業 、 非 牟 利
團 體 及 公 共 機 構 等 的 發 展 , 則 處 於 探 索 階 段 , 因
此 教 練 行 業 在 本 港 仍 有 龐 大 的 發 展 空 間 。
為 讓 有 興 趣 修 讀 教 練 學 或 希 望 藉 此 提 升 工 作 效
率 、 改 善 管 理 和 生 產 力 的 人 士 瞭 解 更 多 有 關 資
料 , 本 學 院 特 於 2 月 18 日 舉 辦 了 “Speed Coaching
Day 2012”, 並 邀 請 到 英 國 牛 津 布 魯 克 斯 大 學
(Oxford Brookes University) Tatiana Bachkirova
教 授 及 香 港 國 際 專 業 教 練 協 會 署 理 總 裁 Carole
Lewis 女 士 主 講 。 活 動 當 天 設 有 六 個 關 於 教 練 學 的
專 題 工 作 坊 , 亦 有 30 分 鐘 的 一 對 一 個 人 教 練 體 驗 ,
參 加 人 數 多 達 200 人 , 反 應 非 常 熱 烈 。

1-on-1 coaching session
The classical Greek philosopher Socrates
pioneered the concept of coaching.
He used questions as a way to inspire his
students way back in 469 BC. In coaching,
coaches build a relationship with coachees,
and then engage them in appreciative and
forward-focused conversations. In this way
coaches help coachees to understand their
own strengths and limitations, and set clear
objectives for personal growth and exploration
of their potential.
Professional coaching is no longer limited to sports.
There is personal coaching for achieving personal
objectives, corporate coaching for business targets,
and newly developed specialties such as executive
coaching, career coaching, and financial coaching.
The untapped potential of coaching
In the UK, US and Australia, a number of corporations
have established coaching cultures in their
operations. Coaching is in wide use and has
developed as a profession over more than 20 years.
In Asia, many multinational corporations have applied
coaching in management and human resource
development, including IBM, Ernst & Young, and
DHL, etc. As a profession, coaching has tremendous

Angela Spaxman, one of the speaker of the day, is

potential. It may be second only to the IT industry as
one of the most up-and-coming professions.
Since it was introduced to Hong Kong in the 90s,
coaching has become an emerging management
tool and a sizeable professional service industry.
There are more than 100 local and expatriate
coaches practising in Hong Kong, who mainly
serve the local offices of multinational corporations
in Asia and Greater China. Local enterprises and
non-governmental organisations (NGO) and public
utilities are still exploring possible implementation,
so there is tremendous potential in these market
segments.
On 18 February, HKU SPACE held “Speed Coaching
Day 2012” aiming at people who are interested in
enhancing work efficiency, improving management, and
increasing productivity. Professor Tatiana Bachkirova
of Oxford Brookes University and Ms Carole Lewis,
Acting President, Hong Kong International Coaching
Community (HKICC) were guest speakers for the day.
Besides the six thematic workshops on coaching, we
also provided 30-min 1-on-1 coaching session for 38
participants. The workshops were well received by
almost 200 attendees.
