大 趨 勢 。 要 迎 接 這 種 種 挑 戰 , 必 須 持 續 進 修 , 裝
備 自 己 。 有 見 及 此 , 本 學 院 於 本 季 特 別 開 辦 了 一
系 列 不 同 專 科 的 高 級 護 理 深 造 證 書 課 程 , 包 括 臨
床 藥 理 學 、 腎 病 護 理 、 家 庭 精 神 健 康 及 中 醫 護 理
等 , 讓 學 員 能 更 深 入 瞭 解 相 關 的 專 業 知 識 , 提 升
專 業 技 能 , 增 強 個 人 競 爭 力 , 為 開 闊 前 景 鋪 路 。
本 學 院 更 於 3 月 1 日 舉 辦 了 「 高 級 護 理 深 造 證 書 課
程 講 座 」, 向 學 員 介 紹 各 課 程 內 容 。

Nurses in the health care system in Hong Kong
today take up a more challenging role than
ever before. The increasing expectations on
the profession call for sophisticated knowledge
and skills in conducting nursing screening and
assessment as well as other supportive nursing
care. Only through continuing education on multi-
specialty nursing practice can practitioners gear
up for the growing demand on the profession.
In light of this, HKU SPACE has introduced
a series of Postgraduate Certificate courses
covering specialities in the areas of clinical
pharmacology, renal nursing, family mental
health care and Chinese medicine nursing. These
courses enable students to gain insights and
professional knowledge on specific health issues
and skills, and prepare them for further career
advancement. An Information Session was held
on 1 March for those who were interested to
know more about the programme contents.

The rapid economic development in Mainland China
has led to an increase in listings, acquisitions and
mergers. The high demand for accountants is also a
result of the growth of trade activities between Hong
Kong and the Mainland. To cater for such demand,
HKU SPACE has offered several accounting
programmes accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). Graduates of
these programmes can enroll as student members of
the Institute and complete its Qualification Programme
(QP) to become certified public accountants in Hong
Kong (CPAs).

HKU SPACE presents two new IT programmes
specifically for those interested in starting a career in
business information systems in general and those
working in the IT departments of banks and finance
institutions. Students will learn insightful know-how
and professional skills on the subject which give them
a competitive edge in the banking and finance sector.
Students successfully completing such programmes
have the option to further pursue award-bearing
top-up programmes, for better qualifications and
to refine their skills.

Chinese calligraphy and painting has been
a valuable cultural heritage. To promote the
traditional Chinese art and culture, HKU SPACE
is offering new programmes including History
of Chinese Calligraphy II: The Spirit of Ink and
Brush and the Art of Elite, Diploma in Chinese
Calligraphy, and Diploma in Chinese Painting.
These programmes cover theories of calligraphy
and painting, appreciation and skill training.
Focus will be given to the development and
evolution of calligraphy and painting in different
dynasties so as to help students to a greater
appreciation for our cultural treasures.

leading dance examination boards. Courses

the courses target to train students to be
professionals.

To be able to master foreign languages will give
individuals a competitive edge in a metropolitan city
such as Hong Kong. In light of this, HKU SPACE
designed a series of language programmes for
your choice. There are custom-made Putonghua
programmes catering for the specific needs in
different trades and sectors. Korean pop culture is
all the rage in Asia, therefore the School has various
Korean programmes on offer for students to learn the
language. Other practical language courses such as
Japanese, Vietnamese and English are also included.
Some of them are instructed in languages other than
Chinese to cater for the demand for language courses
from non-Chinese students.
