際 及 本 地 於 各 專 業 範 疇 中 兼 具 教 學 及 業 界 經 驗
的 講 師 來 港 授 課 , 為 來 自 本 港 及 大 中 華 區 各 地 從
事 媒 體 、 傳 播 、 文 化 及 創 意 產 業 的 學 員 , 提 供 持
續 進 修 及 豐 富 國 際 視 野 的 機 會 。 本 年 度 , 兩 所 學
院 再 度 携 手 , 開 辦 一 系 列 為 期 三 天 的 行 政 課 程 。
「 城 市 定 位 與 空 間 塑 造 」 行 政 課 程
目 前 不 少 國 際 都 會 規 劃 只 著 重 追 求 美 觀 、 實 用 、
環 保 、 先 進 等 突 顯 現 代 化 表 徵 的 元 素 , 使 佈 局 都
千 篇 一 律 。 為 協 助 學 員 擺 脫 固 有 框 框 , 兩 院 校
於 本 年 三 月 首 辦 「 城 市 定 位 與 空 間 塑 造 」(City
Branding) 課 程 , 由 經 驗 豐 富 的 城 市 發 展 顧 問
Thomas Sevcik 任 教 , 藉 探 討 不 同 個 案 , 剖 析 國
際 都 市 如 何 展 現 其 歷 史 文 化 、 回 應 政 經 發 展 演 變
而 成 的 獨 特 城 市 空 間 , 以 及 箇 中 成 敗 關 鍵 。
由 於 去 年 反 應 熱 烈 ,CIDP 於 同 月 再 度 推 出 「 尊 貴
品 牌 定 位 」 行 政 課 程 (Luxury Brand Positioning),
以 去 年 課 程 為 藍 本 , 加 入 最 新 個 案 , 讓 從 事 尊 貴 品
牌 、 或 期 望 打 入 國 際 高 檔 市 場 的 品 牌 之 品 牌 管 理 、
企 業 傳 訊 、 營 銷 及 採 購 人 員 , 藉 此 拓 闊 視 野 。
除 此 之 外 , 兩 院 校 將 於 七 月 中 及 八 月 底 分 別 開 辦
兩 個 全 新 的 課 程 :
「 潮 流 推 廣 」
本 課 程 重 點 討 論 如 何 把 流 行 產 物 推 廣 成 潮 流 標 誌
(Icon), 透 過 國 際 案 例 及 經 驗 豐 富 講 師 Erica Charles
的 啟 迪 , 讓 新 興 及 本 土 品 牌 的 年 輕 設 計 師 , 或 相 關 行
業 的 零 售 商 、 採 購 人 員 、 市 場 推 廣 及 公 關 人 員 等 , 掌
握 市 場 潮 流 產 物 及 受 眾 的 互 動 關 係 、 流 行 產 物 如 何 產
生 或 被 淘 汰 的 原 因 , 並 瞭 解 有 效 推 廣 的 種 種 元 素 。

「 營 商 方 案 實 踐 」
有 別 於 市 場 分 析 策 略 的 理 論 課 程 , 講 師 Paul Sturrock 透
過 引 導 學 員 運 用 設 計 思 維 主 導 (Design-led thinking) 的
創 新 方 法 理 解 企 業 營 運 方 案 , 並 引 導 學 員 以 設 計 學 的 製
作 「 原 型 」(Prototype) 方 法 去 試 驗 商 業 計 劃 , 特 別 適 合
創 意 產 業 人 士 報 讀 。
上 課 日 期 :2012 年 8 月 31 日 至 9 月 2 日
In 2011, the HKU SPACE Centre for
International Degree Programmes (CIDP),
in collaboration with Central Saint Martins
College of Arts and Design (CSM), started
offering executive courses in Hong Kong. Both
institutions invited seasoned lecturers from
London and Hong Kong to teach the executive
classes, with delegates from media, arts,
communications and the creative industries
in Hong Kong and Greater China. This year,
CIDP once again collaborated with CSM to
launch a series of three-day executive courses.
Participants are able to interact with creative
gurus and at the same time broaden their
international networks.
City Branding
It is not uncommon to see many world cities share
similar landscapes. Perhaps there is too much
emphasis on the elements of modern design and
architecture, such as looking good, environmentally
friendly or advanced. In order to help participants
think out of the box, HKU SPACE and CSM launched
a new course called “City Branding” in March.
Thomas Sevcik, a seasoned space consultant,
used case studies and an analytical approach to
examine how world cities create unique identity
and demonstrate their history, culture, and socioeconomic
development. The course also helped
participants to identify the keys to success in city
branding.
In response to the enthusiastic feedback last year,
CIDP re-ran the course “Luxury Brand Positioning”
in March. Based on last year’s curriculum, new case
studies were added. The course attracted brand
managers, corporate communications and business
development executives as well as merchandisers
who were looking for expansion into the premium
sector.
In mid-July and late August, we will offer two new
courses:
Fashion Promotion
This course will offer a thorough overview on how to
promote trendy products to become an iconic brand
in the market. Lecturer Erica Charles has extensive
experience in the fashion and luxury industry. She
will use international case studies to inspire young
designers of fashion and local brands, retailers of
fashion or fashion-related industries, merchandisers
as well as marketing and PR executives.
In this course, participants will learn how to master
the interaction between fashion products and the
target audience, understand the promotion cycle of
fashion products, and develop effective promotional
plans in a competitive market.

Entrepreneurship for Creatives
Instead of the theoretical approach usually adopted
in other executive training courses, CSM lecturer
Paul Sturrock will show participants how to apply
innovative design-led thinking in understanding
business solutions. He will also coach participants
on how to iterate prototype products/ services
and business models through experimentation.
This course is most suitable for creative industry
executives.

保 存 的 關 注 。 一 直 以 來 致 力 推 動 「 檔 案 管 理 」
專 業 化 的 前 政 府 檔 案 處 處 長 朱 福 強 先 生 借 此 契
機 , 向 大 家 分 析 檔 案 管 理 的 重 要 性 。
檔 案 — 優 質 管 治 、 集 體 回 憶
「 對 政 府 或 任 何 機 構 來 說 , 人 才 、 資 金 、『 檔
案 』 都 是 極 重 要 的 資 源 , 缺 一 不 可 。『 檔 案 』 是
日 常 公 事 過 程 所 產 生 的 文 件 記 錄 , 保 存 下 來 作 為
該 等 公 事 過 程 或 政 策 制 訂 及 推 行 的 憑 證 。 妥 善 管
理 檔 案 不 單 有 利 行 政 , 更 可 彰 顯 問 責 。 政 府 的 檔
案 , 更 是 一 個 地 區 集 體 回 憶 及 歷 史 文 化 重 要 的
組 成 部 分 。 全 球 大 部 分 國 家 及 地 區 , 都 會 為 保 存
『 檔 案 』 制 訂 法 律 , 不 過 香 港 仍 是 少 數 沒 有 立 法
保 護 公 共 檔 案 的 地 區 。」 朱 先 生 分 析 檔 案 管 理 的
重 要 性 。
政 府 銷 毀 大 量 檔 案 的 事 件 令 倡 議 訂 立 有 關 法 例 成
為 近 日 城 中 熱 話 。 在 法 例 下 , 政 府 及 相 關 機 構 在
公 務 過 程 中 必 須 開 立 檔 案 , 以 專 業 方 式 管 理 及 貯
存 , 具 永 久 保 存 價 值 的 須 移 交 歷 史 檔 案 館 妥 為 保
存 , 作 為 歷 史 的 見 證 , 文 化 的 傳 承 。
朱 先 生 在 香 港 致 力 推 動 檔 案 管 理 及 訂 立 法 例 不 遺
餘 力 , 他 除 參 與 世 界 各 地 的 歷 史 檔 案 及 文 化 記 憶
保 育 工 程 外 , 更 一 直 協 助 國 內 檔 案 文 獻 遺 產 鑑 定
及 保 存 工 程 , 最 近 填 補 因 國 學 大 師 季 羨 林 離 世 的
空 缺 , 成 為 首 位 港 人 獲 委 任 為 該 項 工 程 的 國 家 諮
詢 委 員 會 委 員 。
課 程 結 合 理 論 與 經 驗
鑑 於 檔 案 資 源 管 理 的 重 要 , 朱 先 生 早 在 2000 年
便 以 國 際 檔 案 理 事 會 東 亞 分 會 秘 書 長 身 分 與 本 學
院 聯 合 推 動 有 關 檔 案 管 理 課 程 , 導 師 均 為 國 際 知
名 的 檔 案 學 專 家 , 學 員 來 自 亞 洲 各 國 的 檔 案 館 或
機 構 的 管 理 層 。 本 港 近 年 對 檔 案 管 理 的 重 要 性 ,
認 識 日 漸 提 高 , 朱 先 生 將 與 本 學 院 緊 密 合 作 , 策
劃 更 多 不 同 類 型 的 檔 案 學 課 程 , 以 切 合 社 會 的 需
要 。

uring the move of the Government
Headquarters late last year, a large
quantity of government records were reported
destroyed. The issues of public records are
normally not a popular topic among people,
but now their management and preservation
have aroused public interest and concern.
Mr. Simon Chu, former Government Records
Service Director, who has been promoting the
professionalisation of Records Management,
will take this opportunity to analyse the
importance of managing records.
Records – good governance and
collective memories
“To a government (or to any organisation),
manpower, capital and records are vital and
indispensable resources for its operation. Records
are documents created and then kept as evidence
when an organisation conducts its business,
develops its policy and implements its programmes.
Having a good record management system will
not only facilitate administration, it also ensures
accountability. As for government records, they
also constitute an essential component of the
community’s collective memories and cultural
heritage. Most jurisdictions in the world have enacted
an archives law to protect their public records. Hong
Kong is still one of the rare exceptions that lacks
such a law to regulate the management of and to
protect its public records,” said Chu.
The recent massive destruction of government
records has aroused public debate on the need
for the enactment of an archives law. Under such
a law, government or public bodies are, first of all,
required to create records for their official activities
and business, to manage them properly and to
have the records transferred to the government
archives for appraisal after their use. For those
records appraised to have historical value, they will
be kept permanently in the archives as part of our
documentary and cultural heritage.
Mr. Chu spares no effort to promote records and
archives management and to advocate for an
archives legislation in Hong Kong. Apart from his
years of participation in a number of international
documentary heritage and conservation projects,
he has recently been appointed as a councilor in
the National Committee for Documentary Heritage
Programme of China, filling the place vacated by the
demise of Professor Ji Xianlin .
A curriculum blended with theories
and experience
In his capacity as the Secretary General of the
East Asian Regional Branch of the International
Council on Archives (EASTICA), Mr. Chu has
since 2000 worked with HKU SPACE in organising
a number of professional records and archives
management courses which are taught and
conducted by celebrated local and international
experts. Many students of these programmes are
serving archivists or records managers coming
from national or territorial archival institutions or
corporations in various parts of Asia. In view of the
increasing awareness of the importance of records
management, Mr. Chu and the School will continue
to design and develop programmes catering to the
different needs of the community.
