The Center for Medical Imaging
The Center for Medical Imaging, which started operations in
October of 2007, originally operated as “Jeannette Open MRI”
on Lowry Avenue in Jeannette since 1996.
The transition to the new name and location provided both
expansion and updating of existing as well as new imaging
services to the area residents.
Conveniently located on Route 30 in Hempfield Plaza next
to Sam’s Club, The Center for Medical Imaging is a premier
outpatient imaging facility offering Open MRI, CT scanning,
Ultrasound and X-Ray.
As an independently owned and operated facility, The Center
for Medical Imaging is dedicated to providing a friendly
environment with superior patient care. With immediate
scheduling, expanded hours of operation till 10:00pm and a
highly trained staff, The Center for Medical Imaging offers many
advantages.
Additionally, most insurances are accepted and free
transportation is available to patients requesting the service.

MS WALK
Westmoreland Cultural Trust opened the Train Station as a
rest stop for the MS Walk in Greensburg, Sunday, April 20.
Christian Fellowship Center and the Royal Rangers Outpost
297, led by Fran Leighty, cheered for the participants and
offered refreshments. Over 500 participants hiked the 6
mile trek raising $61,000 for Multiple Sclerosis! Way to go
Greensburg!
10th Annual Achievement in the Arts Awards Banquet
Greensburg Area Cultural Council, a program of Westmoreland Cultural Trust, held its 10th Annual Achievement in the
Arts Awards Banquet at Seton Hill University’s Lowe Dining Hall on May 18, 2008. Students from eighteen high schools
in Westmoreland County were honored for work in the visual arts, theatre, and music. Westmoreland County Judges
Richard E. McCormick, Jr. and Debra Pezze presented each student with an award plaque and congratulated them on their
outstanding achievements.
The 2008 Art Educator of the Year, Dianne Pyda, was also awarded by Master
of Ceremonies, Marvin Huls. Pyda, a 3-D Art teacher from Mt. Pleasant Area
High School, accepted her award with an encouraging speech. She remembered
being awestruck as a little girl watching her mother use pencil or watercolors to
capture scenes on canvas. “Art is my passion, and to teach it is a privilege,” Pyda
said. “Therefore, I feel like I’m one of the luckiest people in this room.”
Complementing the Awards Banquet was the Seton Hill University Faculty Jazz
Combo. A delectable dinner buffet was prepared by the dining hall staff. All in
attendance agree, this year’s event was a huge success!
