Dahlias are one of our favorite plants for the summer
garden. Alone, it’s lovely and provides tons of flowers for
arrangements. But with other plants in the garden, it’s
hard to beat! Just keep the spent blossom cut or picked
off and they keep ‘going and going’ like the ‘energizer
bunny’! Naturally, they do best in late spring/early
summer and then again throw tons of flowers in the
autumn. The number of flowers produced in the
summer depends on where they are planted.
Group 10 – Miscellaneous type
groups; primarily dark leaved plants. Normally
Urchin – certainly resembles
the physical characteristics
of the sea urchin
or a magenta dandelion;
this is adorable, unusual
and will bring lots of fun
comments about your garden
and arrangements!
Dahlia Breeder’s Mix -
This is a bit like ‘Our Babes’
in our Spring/Fall Catalogue
where we find our
unnamed seedlings too
similar to one that is selected
but too good to
throw away. These dahlias
are different in shape and
color but all have dark
leaves so a bit of ‘shade’
