have chosen to offer perform very well - even in our hot
humid summer where other begonias wilt and suffer;
a smashing success in our tropical summer sun to part

BLETILLA (bleh-TIL-ah)
Family: Orchidaceae
Special Feature: Early, long-lasting flowers
Nickname: Chinese Ground Orchid
Bulb Companions: Camassia; Dutch iris; Triteleia
Other Companions: Painted Daisy; Siberian Iris
These terrestrial orchids native to E. Asia are
lovely in the garden and make long-lasting cut flowers
with 5-10 clusters of corsage-type flowers on each 8”-
12” stem. Prefers well-drained, rich soil, sun to light
shade. Top-sized, 2-3 nose, tuber-shaped rootstocks;
4 per sq. ft.; whz 6-10 (we’ve received reports of even
colder whz!); some of the newer types are sports of
others and sometimes revert
back to the original type.
Big Bob – similar to striata
but with larger flowers and
this plant is more floriferous.
