Brightly colored, bottle brush-like flowers
which bloom from top to bottom, appear on 2’-3’
spikes in July and August. This adaptable American
native with foliage resembling tufts of grass is excellent
in the perennial garden combined with other
plants like Oriental lilies or naturalized on dry hillsides
or moist meadows. It is widely used in the cut flower
industry and is also frequently visited in the garden
by butterflies; top size or 16/18cm corms; 5-6 per sq.
