Amarcrinum with phlox
Soft pink flowers bloom in clusters of 10-16 atop 2’-2
½’ stems. It’s one of our favorite garden plants and is
wonderfully fragrant! We picked one blossom to smell
as we walked through the garden and set it down on our
lunchroom table when we got back to the office. Two
days later, we discovered it just as we left it...without water,
making it an obvious candidate as a long-lasting cut
flower! We have ours in full sun and also in partial shade
in rich, well-drained soil. 24cm+ bulbs; 1 per sq. ft; whz
7-10; blooms late summer - until frost; plant in containers
in whz colder than 7; an ‘all time favorite’ of ours; 1910.
