1926<br />
The first experimental research plots are established<br />
in Peavy Arboretum. The <strong>College</strong> begins to acquire and<br />
manage forest properties for research and instruction.<br />
1927<br />
Third major field <strong>of</strong> study, Lumber Manufacture (later<br />
changed to Wood Products) is introduced. First woman,<br />
Jean Francis Frey, enrolls<br />
in School <strong>of</strong> <strong>Forestry</strong>.<br />
1928<br />
First Fernhopper celebration<br />
is held.
