• Student Activities—The diversity of
activities is remarkable and includes
special events such as African-
American History Month, Martin
Luther King,Jr. Day, Women’s History
Month, Winterfest, an annual Fashion
Show, National Collegiate Alcohol
Awareness Week, Dealing with March
Madness Week, Domestic Violence
and Sexual Assault Awareness Week,
and Stress Reduction Week.
All-American Justin Wood finished in second place
at the NJCAA Cross-Country Championship, held
at the Delhi College Golf Course.
• The Arts—The work of nine Delhi
students was featured at SUNY’s fall
and spring art exhibits. Two of these
pieces were also selected for the
“Best of SUNY Student Art Exhibit,”
which showcased artwork from the
most talented SUNY students.
• Athletics—The athletic honor roll was
highlighted by Delhi’s sixth NJCAA
Division III Championship in
cross-country.
Securing Additional
Resources
A drop in state tax dollar support for
SUNY Delhi from 57 percent of the
college’s budget in 2000 to 36 percent
today has made fundraising an absolute
necessity to ensure a quality educational
experience for students. The depth of
activities, with the creation of a new
grant writer position, illustrates the
college-wide emphasis on securing
additional resources. Those efforts are
already beginning to pay dividends with
the college earning federal, state and
private grants for special programs
and new facilities. The generosity of
alumni and friends is helping fund vital
programs and services for students,
faculty and staff as well. The college
is also becoming entrepreneurial with
both its fundraising and its approach
to generating additional resources for
the college. Here are some examples:
• Tech Prep—The college was awarded
a $193,068 Tech Prep Implementation
