one minute woman is a film project that<br />
visualizes gender related role models and<br />
power structures: from the nun to the callgirl,<br />
from the female demon to the housewife.<br />
Linguistic as well as visual contexts<br />
are questioned and dramatized in the form<br />
of 33 one-minute films. Notions and stereotypes<br />
are dissected through pathological<br />
film images.<br />

In the beginning is music. Three different<br />
musical compositions play the role of the<br />
director, drawing the optical soundtrack<br />
onto the image. Abstract images based on<br />
the optical soundtrack provide a visualization<br />
of the music: sound as image in the<br />
mind’s eye. The source material is gleaned<br />
from the head and tail leader of movie films,<br />
normally used to test film projectors for<br />
sound and image quality.<br />
