Background/Justification:
The purpose of this agenda item is to approve the Cooperative Agreement with Scott County Health and
Human Services, the Scott County Sheriff, and the Scott County Attorney pursuant to the requirements of
federal law (45 CFR §§ 302.34 and 304.21) in order to compensate these County entities with respect to
reimbursement for costs incurred in providing services necessary to operate the Child Support Enforcement
System under Title IV-D of the Social Security Act.
The agreement sets forth the respective duties of the IV-D Agency, the County Sheriff and County Attorney.
Sixty-six percent of costs are reimbursed through federal funds. The County Attorney will be reimbursed at the
rate of $95.00 per hour, and the County Sheriff will be reimbursed at the rate of $48.00 per hour.
