Oksana Tanasiv
Not only was it an incredible surprise for Fashion Xchange Magazine
to be invited to New York Fashion Week this Fall, but it was a pleasant
experience to have met Ukrainian fine artist Oksana Tanasiv at one of the
incredible shows we covered.

What immediately caught my eye about Oksana’s artistry is
that she creates couture art. A lot of her fine art is dedicated
to fashion, and develops within the forum of creating couture
designs on canvas in 2-D, 3-D format, bringing the level of
fashion illustration to a higher level - to the level of fine art.
Interestingly enough, as talented as Oksana Tanasiv is, she
spent her educational years obtaining a Bachelor degree in
Business and Psychology. She is not educated in the techniques
that either fashion or art require, but her work in
immaculate. “After I immigrated to the United States in 2004,
I dedicated more time to my artistic career. I clearly realized
I want to be a professional artist, so I put a lot of time, effort,
and energy to do my best in reaching this goal. It took me ten
years to be transformed from non-English-speaking immigrant
into an artist exhibiting on international level,” Tanasiv
explains.
