transfer her illustration

was curious how I
could better draw
the figures, faces,
and dresses with
using oil, acrylic, and
many other different
medias on a new
surface - canvas, not
just pencil and paper.
I also discovered new techniques that helped me to create
more incredible fashion designs on canvas such as using
Swarovski® crystals, sequence, different kinds of fabric, tulle,
veil, oil, stitching over fabric and canvas. All these techniques
are artistically individual ways to bring fashion to the level of
fine art.” Tanasiv designs using oil on canvas techniques, step
instillations, watercolor on paper, beautiful couture fabric
on canvas and brilliant Swarovski crystals to embellish the
artists design.
Oksana is inspired by many designers that ignite the fire of
creativity underneath her to continue to create in the form
and fashion she does. “I like so many designers who are
incredible, I can’t chose only one! I adore the designs of Eli
Saab. The way he works with fabric and crystals is fantastic.
I’m also fascinated by the collections of Zuhair Murad. I even
dedicated one of my art pieces from his couture collection
and transferred his idea to canvas. I love the way he works
with fabric, lace, crystals... I adore other designers such as Valentino,
Karl Lagerfeld, Alexander McQueen, but my favorite
designer I feel is John Galliano. He is undoubtedly a genius
of fashion, who uses historical, theatrical and artistic images
in his collections. I love how talented he is in creating a new
design based on these images”, she expresses.

matter what! You have to believe in your success and work
very hard every day; through practice, improving skills and
developing your talent you can get what you want. Also, you
should try your talent in the opposite direction everyone else
is going. It means you have to discover totally new, different
styles, ideas that nobody else before you created. It will give
you as an amazing recognition,’ Tanasiv states.
All of her future plans and goals are directed into improving
her artistic skills, developing new techniques and innovations
in fashion and fine art. She has many ideas that I would
love to implement, turn many of my sketches into pieces of
fine art, installations, sculptures. It takes time and energy. In
the very near future i plan to start a couple new collection
that will feature my new techniques, materials, media, and
new subjects for my art creations.

creations in the works of other artists, in museums and art
galleries. “I am inspired by the art of 20th century artists and
illustrators such as Erte and Rene Gruau. I love to find new
ideas in books, fashion magazines, interesting vintage art
and photographs, even in the movies. I also find my inspiration
in the fashion shows I visit and in new collections of
fashion designers.” It seems much like most artists, inspiration
is in the air, the water and everywhere this woman looks.
“One of my latest collections ‘Odeur de Chanel’ is my tribute
to the timeless style of Coco Chanel. And Coco’s style, talent,
and elegance were the inspiration to create this collection.’
Her wise words of guidance to other artists are that ‘the key
components of success are very similar, no matter what
industry you are working in. It is very important to know and
