PEER LEADERSHIP PROGRAM<br />

Designed to develop the leadership of high school<br />

students while teaching them to provide outreach to<br />

students in the middle school. The program focuses<br />

on building relationships, fostering collaboration,<br />

increasing self confidence, developing conflict<br />

resolution skills and acquiring healthy decisionmaking<br />

strategies.<br />

10,11,12th grade students who have completed the<br />

application process, which includes advisor review<br />

and teacher recommendations. There will also be an<br />

opportunity for 9th grade students to be involved<br />

through our <strong>Student</strong> Ambassador Program.<br />

Attend meetings, workshops, and activities on a<br />

regular basis. Maintain a balance of academic and<br />

social responsibilities. Consistently be a positive role<br />

model for all students and the community.<br />

SCIENCE LEAGUE - BIOLOGY I & II<br />

Purpose:<br />

To compare student academic ability on a county<br />

scale<br />

Membership:<br />

Grades 9-12, Honors Bio students (top 6 grades)<br />

Member expectations: Attend study groups and test dates, review and study<br />

on their own<br />

Meeting dates/location: After school one day per week<br />

Previous activities: Four competitions per year<br />

SCIENCE LEAGUE -CHEMISTRY I &II<br />

Purpose:<br />

To offer students the opportunity to further their<br />

chemistry ability and understanding<br />

Membership:<br />

Must be taking or have taken Chemistry<br />

Member expectations: Attend a meeting/session each week with the<br />

supervisor to discuss material<br />

Meeting dates/location: TBA<br />

REBEL 2<br />

Purpose:<br />

To explore different tobacco issues and educate<br />

schools, families, and friends of the dangers of<br />

tobacco.<br />

Membership: Grades 7-12<br />

Member Expectations: Members are expected to attend all meetings and<br />

extra-curricular events.<br />

Meeting dates/locations: Various dates, bi-monthly meetings in MS room 13<br />

January through April – High <strong>School</strong> Room 16<br />

Purpose:<br />

To introduce students to engineering principles of<br />

robotics<br />

Membership: Grades 7&8<br />

Membership expectations: Members are expected to attend all meetings and<br />

participate in activities<br />
