The NWR Athletics Program is a major component of our co-curricular student<br />
activities. <strong>North</strong> <strong>Warren</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> High <strong>School</strong> is a member of the New Jersey<br />
Interscholastic Athletic Association, the Skyland Conference, and the Hunterdon/<strong>Warren</strong><br />
Athletic Association. The NWR Athletics Program offers various<br />
combinations of varsity, junior varsity, freshman, and middle school levels depending<br />
upon the sport. All eligibility requirements must be met before any student-athlete<br />
is cleared for competition. Any concerns or questions should be<br />
referred to the Director of Athletics.<br />

NJSIAA ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES<br />
(HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ONLY)<br />
A student at <strong>North</strong> <strong>Warren</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> must maintain the following state requirements<br />
to be eligible for participation in athletics:<br />
1. Any student 19 years of age prior to September 1 is not eligible.<br />
2. Any student is eligible for athletic competition only for eight consecutive<br />
semesters beginning with the entrance into ninth grade.<br />
3. To be eligible for athletic competition during the first semester (September 1<br />
to January 31) of the 10th grade or higher, a pupil must have passed 27.5<br />
credits during the immediately preceding academic year. This rule applies to<br />
fall and winter sports.<br />
4. To be eligible for athletic competition during the second semester (February<br />
1 to June 30) of 9th grade or higher, a pupil must have passed 13.75 credits<br />
during the immediately preceding academic semester. This rule applies to<br />
spring sports.<br />
5. Incoming freshmen are automatically eligible for fall and winter sports.<br />

the NJSIAA Handbook—Constitution, Bylaws and Regulations, available in the<br />
Athletic Director’s office.<br />
